We got LOADS of toys, mostly in very good condition, some brand new! Mostly for toddlers and young girls, evidently boys don't take care of their toys!
A whole lot of toys were given to people we help in Arguineguin. A carful went to the children's home in San Fernando before Christmas, another to Ingenio to be distributed through our member from there, Pepa Aurora, and another long term supporter. Some few were sold to make cheap toys available for poor parents/grandparents and to raise money for Food Today. The few that are left, and any more that come in will be given out before los Reyes.
We didn't get any sports equipment or bicycles, we have someone to repair bikes, so old bikes are also welcome. We did get 2 TV's; they were not sold and will be auctioned or advertised for sale.
The toy collection was a big success and something we will repeat year after year.
A big thank you to everyone who has donated, and to Debbie, we got lots through RTN!! and to Randi, we got lots through Canariposten.com too! And thanks to the Norwegians who gave the TV's! Tusen takk!
